Invitation letter for visitor visa to Canada

A letter of invitation for a visitor visa to Canada is a document that a person in Canada writes to invite a friend, family member or other person to visit him in Canada. This letter is often required as part of the visa application process to demonstrate the purpose of the visit and to establish a bond between the visitor and their host. The letter should specify the details of the visit and give the assurance that the visitor will comply with the conditions of the visa.
If you are in Canada with a legal and valid status, you can prepare an invitation letter for a family member, relative or friend with a visitor visa.
This letter of invitation will be attached by the applicant for a visitor visa outside of Canada.
However, an invitation letter does not guarantee that you will receive the visa.
Even with the invitation letter, Canadian immigration will assess your application to decide if you meet all the requirements.

1. Content of the letter :

The invitation letter should contain the following information:
- Information about the invitee : Name, contact details and status in Canada (for example, Canadian citizen, permanent resident, holder of a work or study permit).
Visitor Information: Name, date of birth, relationship to guest and visitor's passport details.
- Purpose of visit : Clearly indicate the purpose of the visit (tourism, family visit, business meetings, etc.).
- Visit dates : Specify the visitor's expected arrival and departure dates.

- Ties to country of origin : Explain how the visitor has ties to their country of origin (eg, employment, family, property) that would motivate them to return there after their visit.
Additional Information: Any other relevant details, such as travel itinerary, plans in Canada and activities during the visit.

2. Supporting documents :

The guest may be required to provide documents to support the invitation letter, such as:
- Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence (for example, photocopy of passport or Permanent Residence card).
- If applicable, proof of legal status in Canada (for example, a work or study permit).
- Financial documents demonstrating the host's ability to cover the visitor's expenses, if any.
